Texan with catchy tunes

Our favorite East Texan has been away for three years – busily “writing songs and falling in love.”

But we forgive her as she’s back with a vengeance and a clutch of rambling ditties about Strawberry Jam, Blackberry Blossom and such like.

Sweeping from country to folk to swing to rock, Michelle was in good heart in Manchester with her excruciatingly catchy tunes.

And she was ably aided by a hillbilly crew with their rattling spoons, jangling banjos and dungarees.

L.A. police chief Daryl Gates’ competence came into question before she launched into a set-steading “Graffiti Limbo.”

Even her dad, Dollar Bill, came up with a “sophisticated” song about chickens. A remote-controlled rooster was let loose on the stage.

But it had no need to worry. All the serious plucking was on the strings, not the wings.
